This above picture is from the 1949 Bramwell High School Homecoming parade on Main Street in Historic Bramwell,West Virginia . Peggy Stacey was the Homecoming Queen that year and is shown in the center of the venicle. The vehicle was a "Jeepster" built by the Willys Company and was a sport version of the World War II Jeep. This vehicle was auctioned off to raise money for the school. It was won by the Harris family who ran the grocery store at Shinbriar,WV. Bramwell High School beat Graham High School ( 44 to 7 ) at the homecoming football game. That was considered a major upset in football for the entire state of WV. It was one of the worst football loses that Graham High School had ever received . The below picture is the drawing of the winning number for the new Jeepster. (Photograph furnished by Dizzy Harris.)
