Edward R. Bowman, BHS Class '45, shown here on the left is receiving the Distinguished Service award on June 25th 2001 after 45 years of service in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at the Virginia Commonwealth University. Edward holds the title of Research Associate at the University. The Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology is a part of the Medical College of Virginia on the campus of Virginia Commonweath University (VCU). With over 35 faculty members and a department that ranks in the top 10 of NIH funded Pharmacology & Toxicology programs, the department offers a rich and highly interdisciplinary environment for research, teaching and graduate program mission. A high priority is placed on training quality graduate students in the many diverse areas of Pharmacology & Toxicology in a stimulating and interactive atmosphere. The department is nationally recognized for it's research in alcohol & drug abuse, cancer pharmacology & environmental toxicology. |
