TOWN OF BRAMWELL BRIDGES

This bridge crosses the Bluestone Riveron the west side of the Town of Bramwell. It is one of threehighway bridges that crosses the Bluestone River in this historictown. It is soon to be named the Dwight W. McCormick MemorialBridge. It was constructed in 1950 by the J.M. Francesa Companyfrom Fayetteville,WV. The Fayetteville based construction crewstayed at the Historic Goodwell House (Owned by the Messer familyat that time) during the construction period and dinned at theold Booth restaurant on Bramwell's Main Street. Some of theBramwell high School alumni still remember being paid $0.90 perhour during the summer of 1950 to furnish labor on theconstruction project. They got $1.10 per hour overtime pay onSaturday.
