Crater Lake Vacation - Sept 1997

You are looking at the beautiful and famousCrater Lake in Oregon. This lake was created by a volcanic erruption that occurred approximately 65,000 years ago. Summer boating tours are given on the lake by the National Park Service with a stop made at "Wizard Island" , which is also featured in the picture. The rim of this island holds a burried treasure on what is known to some as Lyle's Rock. The treasure is be retrieved the next time we return to Crater Lake. This site is a wonderful senic place to visit during your summer vacation. The Crater Lake Lodge, located on the rim of the crater, is also a great place to visit and enjoy delicious food.
