A Noted Bramwell High School Alumni - Class '33

Edna Jo is the oldest of four surviving Forlines sisters that are also BHS graduates. They are Patrica '50, Barbara '51, Dolly '53 and Eleanor '57. Each these ladies occupy a special place among their fellow BHS alumni. Edna Jo's brother David is also a 1946 Bramwell High School graduate. Edna Jo faithfully traveled from her home in Dayton, Ohio to the Bramwell reunion festivities for many years. She is to be commended for her continued love of the school and admired for her determination to return each year and support the festivities at Katherine Barringer's home as well as the BHS alumni reunion festivities.

Edna Jo Heindl, age 91, of Kettering, passed away Sunday May 7, 2006 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home. Edna Jo was born September 29, 1914, the eldest child of the late Joseph C. and Verna Forlines. Her parents named her Edna Joseph!, much to her disliking as she grew up and after coming of age she had her name changed to Edna Jo. She was a Registered Nurse for 50 years, graduating from Miami Valley Nursing School, interned there, and worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Montgomery County Nursing Home and retiring from Stillwater Health Center. She was an active member of New Lebanon Brethren Church for 40+ years, and belonged to the Women's Missionary Society. Over the years she served with many organizations including the Retiring Nurses Committee and Miami Valley Hospital Alumni Board. Edna Jo is survived by her sons, Dan and Mary Lou Gordon of Kettering and David "Gregg" and Linda Gordon of Peoria, Az.; a stepdaughter, Lynda Sue & husband Bob Wise of Edgewater, Fl.; her sisters, June Eaton, Barbara Cordier, Eleanor Dinsmore and Dolly Murphy; one brother, David (Joyce) Forlines; grandchildren, Dan, Travis, Erica, Mary Ellen, Betty Jo, Robin, Cindy and Dawn; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester "Chet" H. Gordon, the father of her sons, in 1952; her second husband, John Wm. Heindl, the father of Lynda, in 1988; sisters, Marjorie Burks, Patricia McAlpin, and Lena Schelcher; brothers, Joseph Forlines II and Don Forlines.
