James F. Hicks, 72, of Wolcott, husband of Mary (Kerwin)
Hicks, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at his home with his
wife and daughter by his side. His Bramwell High School
classmaes knew him as Jimmy. Jimmy was born Dec. 25,
1934,in Kimball,son of the late Lee and Alma (Tolly)
Hicks. He excelled in sports and was a letterman and
captain of the football, basketball and track teams of
Bramwell High School in West Virginia. Jimmy's BHS
classmates hold many fond memories of him. Jimmy was a resident of Connecticut since 1954 and of Wolcott since 1964. He was a former employee of Raskin Farm in Marion and later worked for the state of Connecticut. He then was the owner of Brass City Liquors and the Daisy Luncheonette, both located in Waterbury. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and was known as a true southern gentleman and friend to many. His hobbies included working with his hands, fixing things for everyone and working in his garden. He enjoyed UConn basketball and NASCAR racin.
