The photograph features Steve Boray and Frank Oiler standing across from the Boray house and in front of Mr. Boray's 1940 Buick in 1956. Mr. Boray was the first person to have a TV in "Goodwill Holler", He and grandson Clarence Hurst ran twenty one hundred feet of wire up the mountain and put antennas in trees to get reception. The local residents were always knocking on his door asking if they could watch TV. ( Note: A few viewers may remember the 300 ohm "twin lead" wire used for television in the early days of television.) Photograph furnished by : Clarence Hurst. |
