The photograph features Steve Boray and grandson Clarence (Junior) Hurst The photograph was taken at Goodwill, WV in the yard of Clarence and Helen (Boray) Hurst. The house was located just below the Goodwill Company Store. The little house in the back ground became the post office after the post office was moved out of the company store. The year was about 1942. Clarence was called Junior all the time as he was growing up. Clarence went to all 6 years at Goodwill School when he attended Montcalm High School. Clarence's father passed away at that house in January 1945. From the time Clarence was about 8 years old until about 15, Clarence lived with Grandpa Boray. Grandpa Boray passed away in August 1958 at his house above the company store and across the rail road tracks in the fourth house on the left. He retired from the mines at age 62 and was 70 when he passed away, Frank and Moggie Oilier lived in the house beside of the Boray house. Photograph furnished by : Clarence Hurst. |
