Born in Montcalm on April 18, 1932, Ila Rose Taylor was the daughter of Violet Josephine Rose Taylor (1897-1979) and Leonard L.Taylor (1896-1984), of Montcalm, Mercer, WV. Ida graduated from Bramwell High School with Class '51. After graduation she joined the Air Force ( the Army Air Corps. ) and became a medic. Ida married Daniel Thomas McGinnis (1927 - 2004).
Ida was outgoing and vivacious, liking bright colors, music, dancing, and generally having fun. She also enjoyed target shooting and was a good shot. She was a dutiful, generous daughter; sending money home for both sets of parents. Her name is registered at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery. At the time of her death on May 27, 1969 she resided in Washington, DC. She is buried in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV.
