JOE JAMES VINCIGUERRA

 Joe James Vinciguerra, 94, of Simmons Street, Bramwell, WV, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Havens in Princeton. Born on July 15, 1925 in Thacker Mine, WV, he was a son of the late Mike and Mary Grace Formica Vinciguerra. He had been a resident of Bramwell since 1957 and was a graduate of Matewan High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving in World War II. Joe was a 35-year coal miner and retired from Eastern Associated Coal Company in Keystone. He was a member of the Bramwell Masonic Lodge and the Beni Kedem Shrine in Charleston where he was past Imperial Potentate in 1996. He was a longtime member of the Bluewell Lions Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Rudolph, Philip, Albert and Ralph; and sisters, Youla, Martha, Nannie and Mary. Survivors include a brother Mike (Shirley) Vinciguerra of Bluefield; a sister, Betty Karl of NJ; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Craig Hammond and nephew, Carman Luizzo and niece, Jenny Harris officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with Father Sebastian Devasya officiating. Ben Gay, Wilson Butt, Gary Walker, Wayne Barth, Donnie Goins, Wes Kennard, and Terry Corner will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
