Bramwell High School Classmate Janice Blevins passed away in December 2005. Janice will forever live in our hearts. We cherish the memories her attending our Class '53 fiftieth reunion and the Class '53 picnic at Glenwood Park , WV in August 2005.

Janice Blevins Pickett, 69, of P.O. Box 42, Rock,WV, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield. Born March 01, 1936 on Browning Lambert Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Charles Horton Blevins and Edna Arlean Johnson Blevins. She was a resident of Rock for the past 30 years, an employee of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Princeton, and a graduate of Bramwell High School. Mrs. Pickett was a member of the Bluefield Moose Lodge, Bluefield.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Roderick “Nelson” Pickett also preceded Mrs. Pickett in death. Survivors: One daughter: Terry Lucado and husband Sandy of Pulaski, Va.; three brothers: James H. Blevins and wife Polly of Route 3, Bluefield, Wayne Blevins and wife Pat of Montcalm, Roger “Pistol” Blevins and wife Sandy of Bluewell; one sister: Nancy York of Rock; two grandchildren: Alica and Rodrick Lucado; one great grandchild: Jared Lucado.

A memorial service was held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005 at the Cravens Shires Funeral Home Chapel, Bluewell with Minister Jack Johnston officiating. Cravens Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell served the Pickett family.
