Bramwell High School classmate Joyce Sizemore passed away on 2 June 2004. Joyce will forever live in our hearts. We cherish our memories of her.

SHADY SPRING , WV - Joyce Ann Sizemore Kendrick, beloved wife of John Kendrick Jr. of Shady Spring, WV passed from pain and suffering into perfect and eternal rest, June 2, 2004. Born Aug. 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Sonker and Virginia Sizemore.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Bell.

Joyce was a graduate of Bramwell High School. She was a telephone operator for General Telephone Company Southeast , Bluefield. She was also employed by Beckley Manufacturing in Beckley,WV for 14 years . Joyce and her husband, John, 'Rick' owned and operated Rick's Fried Chicken in Shady Spring for 24 years. Both she and her husband were devoted in serving their patrons.

Joyce is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, John Kendrick Jr., Shady Spring. Joyce was a devoted Christian and attended Shady Spring First Baptist Church until her illness. She was loved by friends and family alike. Joyce fought her battle with cancer with courage and dignity for four years. Her loving and devoted caregiver and sister -in-law, Audrey Bateman, lived with her and her husband and faithfully provided for her every need.

The angels came with silent tread

And softly gathered round her bed

Unto their shining home above

They bore her in their arms of love
