June Hurst Foy
BLUEFIELD — June Hurst Foy, age 80, of Route 3 Box 375, Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010 at a Bluefield hospital. Born on August 25, 1929 in Duhring, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Georgia Carper Hurst. She had been a resident of Rt. 3, Bluefield for 54 years and was a graduate of Bramwell High School. She was a member of the Montcalm United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles (Bus) Hurst, Jr.; and a sister, Ruth Foy. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Chester R. Foy of the home; children, Sam Foy and wife Cathy of Bluefield, Lucinda Uhlir of Raleigh, N.C., Chet Foy and wife Lisa of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren, Brian Foy and wife Sherri of Bluefield, Tina Ellis and husband Chris of Fayetteville, Sara Foy of Scitiate, Mass., Wil Uhlir of Raleigh, N.C., Taylor Foy of Charlotte, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Trevor and Brooke Foy, Emma and Jack Ellis; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor David Ratcliff officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Tom Shrewsbury, Kip Thompson, Phil Hurst, Paul Whitteker, Harold Montgomery, and Jim Conner serving as pallbearers. Buddy Warden, Monk Gaither, William Poff, and James Blevins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
