| Perhaps this page will rekindle a fond memory for you as it does for this Editor. In 1949 ( BHS - 8th Grade ) I entered the "Lucky Star Contest" by submitting 1712 lucky stars. I had saved lucky stars for over two years with the help of many students and teachers and my Mother. I requested to be considered for the first place prize of a bicycle. Yes, it worked and I received a brand new "maroon colored" bicycle that arrived via train at the "Old Bramwell Depot". I was overjoyed as I assembled this wonderful machine and paddled my way up Pinnacle Mountain toward home. I kept the bicycle until I graduated from Bramwell High School in 1953. At that time I sold it for $15.00 and have kept only the wonderful memories that this beautiful bicycle brought me. A thanks to Dick Wright for uncovering this Out-Of-The-Attic material. |
