Goodwill's Winding Gulf
Collieries' Motor Men Goodwill's "main line motor men" Carl Foy ( left ) and Charlie Owens shown on their motor at the mouth of the old No. 2 mine of Winding Gulf Collieries in Goodwill, WV. Carl Foy lived in Goodwill Coal Camp. He later worked for 20 years with the Norfolk and Western Railroad. He died in 1991 at the age of 85. His father, Samuel Foy was killed in a mining accident in at Mullens, WV in approximately 1937. Samuel's sons, Earl and Samuel William were working with him when the accident happened. Earl and S. W. were the oldest boys. Samuel Foy's other children were Chester, Carl, Buela, Gertrude, Geddy, and Kathleen. Samuel Foy was living in Duhring, WV at the time of his death.
