BLUEFIELD — Mary Helen Cornett, 81, of Rt. 3 Box 218, Bluefield, WV 24701, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2010 at the home of her son, Jeffery Cornett in Durham, N.C.
Mary was born on March 01, 1929 in Bramwell, W.Va. to the late J. S. Painter and Helen Shupe Painter. She was a resident of Bluefield, W.Va. for 51 years and was a member of the Bramwell Presbyterian Church and ladies Lions auxiliary. She was a former employee of People Bank of Bluewell and a high school secretary. She also enjoyed being a volunteer at the former St. Luke's Hospital in Bluefield, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley Cornett, Jr.; one son, David McKinley Cornett; and two brothers, Richard Painter and Emmett Painter.
Survivors include her sons, Jeffery Cornett and wife Faith of Durham, N.C., Gregory Cornett of Bluefield, W.Va.; daughter, Patricia Farley and husband Robert of Charlottesville, Va.; brother, Clarence Painter and wife Margie of Charleston, W.Va.; sister, Jennie Lee Painter of Roanoke, Va.; four grandchildren, Aaron Farley, John Farley, Laura Farley and Miranda Cornett; two stepgrandchildren, Travis Proffitt of Durham, N.C. and Jamie Jenkins of Bluefield; five great-grandchildren.

shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age
shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going
down of the sun and in the morning We will remember
them.
