Virginia Beach, VA - Myrtle Miles Ratcliff Butt 90 of Virginia Beach, VA passed away Sunday March 25, 2012 at the Virginia Beach Rehabilitation Center. Born July 24, 1921, formerly of Freeman WV, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Effie Shrader Miles. Until her death, she was the oldest living member of the Bramwell Methodist Church, a former member of the choir and active in the Cora Johnson Circle.

Myrtle retired from the First Century Bank of Bluefield and prior to that had worked many years as a cashier at the Piggy Wiggly on Bland Street. She lived the past 4 years in Virginia Beach, VA and prior to that made her home for 7 years with her special niece Jane Miles of Princeton, WV. While residing in Virginia Beach with her son and daughter in law, she enjoyed attending the Nimmo United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands Ernest Ratcliff and Marion Butt, brothers Frank (Jack), Buddy and Robert Miles, and sisters Elizabeth Evans and Margie (Renie) Brewer. Survivors include her son Donald Miles and his wife Linda of Virginia Beach, VA, granddaughter LaDona Crutsinger and husband Bobby of Virginia Beach, grandson David Miles of Costa Rica and DC, two great granddaughters, Taylor and Jordan Young of Virginia Beach and step great granddaughter, Amy Crutsinger. She is also survived by three brothers; Ed (Betty) Miles, Bill (Margie) Miles of Montverde, FL, and Emory Miles of Kissimmee, FL. Her sisters; Dorothy David of Kissimmee, FL and Dolly (John) Drain of Bridgeton, NJ. Also surviving are two sisters in law, Mildred Miles of Durham, NC and Phyllis Miles of Bluewell, WV, and a special cousin, Betty Shrader Barker of Bluefield. Ms. Myrtle was especially fond of all her nieces and nephews and was happiest when the entire family joined her at the family farm for annual reunions.

Funeral services for Myrtle will be conducted at 11:00.AM Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Bramwell United Methodist Church in Bramwell WV with the Reverend Ray Conrad and the Reverend Dorothy Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home from 6:00 ?" 8:00 PM Friday, March 30, 2012. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell, WV. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made if desired to the Bramwell United Methodist Church Building Fund, Bramwell WV 24715.
