Norma Sparks passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Memories of Norma by her classmates will be everlasting. She was a wonderful classmate.

Norma passed in Elon, NC. She had been ill for sometime with altzheimers.

GREENSBORO, NC— Norma Joyce Sparks Vaughan Marus, 77, passed into eternal peace on Saturday, June 22, 2013 with her family by her side. Born April 1, 1936, she was predeceased by her husband, Aldo Marus, father Rufus Sparks, mother Edith Sparks, brother Rufus Blane Sparks, and her sisters Dana Wilson and Linda Gayle Hurst.

Norma's greatest passion was her family. She was a kind and loving person who always thought of others first. She will always be remembered for her giving spirit, beautiful smile and her big blue eyes. She was a successful business owner of Knight Products and retired in 2009. She was a member of Adams Farm Community Church while living in Greensboro, N.C.

She participated in the Alzheimer's Research Program and the Memory Disorders Clinic, and has donated her body to Duke Hospital for Alzheimer's Research.

She is survived by her brothers Roger (Karen) Sparks, Sr. of Pennsylvania and Douglas (Glenda) Sparks, Sr. of Greensboro, also her children, Steve Vaughan of Naples, Florida, Beverly (Lee) Whedbee of Chesapeake, VA, Phillip (Debbie) Vaughan of Greensboro, and Dan (Kim) Vaughan of Raleigh, NC. Grandchildren: Jason Whedbee, Heather Stephenson, Cary Vaughan, Jordan Vaughan and Dustin Vaughan, and five great-grandchildren Dax and Mia Stephenson, Braylon, Colton, and Thatcher Vaughan.

The family acknowledges the staff at Blakey Hall and most importantly The Cottage at Blakey Hall for their loving and tender care, thank you!
