Arnold Rudolph “Rudy” Perkins

BLUEFIELD — Arnold “Rudy” Perkins, 75, of Route 3, Box 410, Bluefield, left this world on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 4:00 a.m. to go to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Rudy was born on March 24, 1932 in Montcalm. He was the son of the late William C. and Cora Knuckles Perkins. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William A. and James E. Perkins; and a sister, Evelyn Penturff.

Rudy was a member of the Lorton Lick Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 32 years. He also served on the Board of Trustees, taught Sunday School Adult Class for 25 years and served as song leader and moderator for many years. He was a Korean War Veteran and served as a surgical nurse during his service. He loved gardening, playing golf, and fishing with his grandchildren. He was a great friend to all of mankind and animals. He had worked at J.C. Penney’s for a total of 39 years.
