Roger Earl Goins, 63, of Simmons Street, Bramwell, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005. Roger was born on May 14, 1941, he was the fourth son of the late Glen F. and Pearl Dillon Goins of Duhring.

Roger was educated in the Bramwell Schools and was employed by the WV Water Company until he became disabled. He was an active member of the Duhring and Bramwell Churches of Christ. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, was an avid race car fan and was called 'Slick' by family and friends.

His wife of 38 years, Bonnie Harman Goins and their children survives him. Son, Glen and wife Renee' of Bluefield; daughter, Dreama Spangler and husband Scott of Bramwell. Roger adored his grandchildren, Tyler Goins, Katelyn Goins, Autumn Spangler and Ethan Spangler. Also surviving are his siblings, Melvin and wife Willia of Catlettsburg, Ky., Ray and wife Helen of Elkhorn City, Ky., Walter and wife Betty of Bluefield, Donnie and wife Betty of Bramwell, James and wife Arlene of Bluefield, Judy Bragg and husband Harry of Cool Ridge, Kelly and wife Vickie of Freeman, Harold and wife Elsie of Bluefield, Conley and wife Renee' of Duhring. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; five aunts and one uncle and their families; brothers-in-law, Tom Harman of Bramwell and James Harman of Princeton; sister-in-law, Norma Gedeon and husband George of North Ridgeville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005 at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Reverends Harold Goins, Paul Delida and Frank Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery where Bryan Goins, Ronald Saddler, Junior Goins, Jan Kayhill, Joe Vinciguerra, Kenny Kirby, Freddie Kirby and Larry Robinette served as pallbearers.
