This photograph is of the Forlines House located near Freeman, WV on the Bluestone River. The swinging bridge is one of the few bridges of this type construction in southern West Virginia that remains in use. The bridge has served as a means of crossing the Bluestone River for several generations and was featured in the local Bluefield Daily Telegraph in the late 1990s. A similiar type swinging bridge located in the Town of Bramwell was recently restored and is featured on this site. The photograph was take in 1999.
