Barbara Kathleen Francis — The loving hands of her husband and son reached down from Heaven and took the hand of their beloved wife and mother. Barbara Kathleen Francis went to be home with them in Heaven on Sunday, January 15, 2012, while her loving daughters held her hands here on earth. Barbara was born on July 9, 1935 to the late Bill and Flossie Miller Mitchem. She had been a resident of Brushfork, WV for 54 years and was a member of the MapleView Church of Christ.

Barbara was a homemaker and was a mother of four. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry F. Francis; son, Steven F. Francis; sister, Juanita Mitchem; and four brothers, Junior, Jimmy, Clinton, and Johnny Mitchem. Survivors include three daughters, Dona Casey and husband Emmett Jr. of Bluefield, Becky Agnew and husband Dean of Bluefield, Tracie Lewis and husband Randall of Bluefield; grandchildren, Amber and Andrea Agnew, Kody Casey, Logan and Nick Lewis, all of Bluefield; three sisters, Jackie Williamson of Bluefield, Jean Gaither of Bluefield, Betty Lou Russell and husband Chester of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Robert Mitchem and wife Jeanette of Delaware, Buddy Mitchem of Michigan; special sister-in-law, Jackie Mitchem.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister Tony Reed officiating. Burial followed at Roselawn memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends called on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences accepted at www.cravens-shires.com.
