Billy R. Belcher BLUEFIELD - Billy R. Belcher, 66, of Route 3, Box 666 (Lorton Lick Road), Bluefield, died on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 in Tazewell, Va. as a result of a vehicle accident. Born on Oct. 29, 1938 in Freeman, he was a son of the late Walter 'Eck' and Annie Miller Belcher. He had been a resident of Route 3, Bluefield for 32 years and was a compressor mechanic for the DeRick Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion. In addition to his parents, his wife, Norma Jean Batts Belcher; and a daughter, Teresa Lynn Belcher preceded him in death. Survivors include: Three daughters: Sandra Malamisura and husband Rocky of Bluefield, Va., Kim Belcher of Cleveland, Tenn., Jo Ann Moore of Climax, N.C.; five grandchildren: Tony and Teresa Serge, Emily and Tyler Malamisura, and Alan Serge; five brothers: JR Belcher and wife Mary of Princeton, Dennis Belcher of Glenwood, Paris Belcher and wife Ruthie of Princeton, Teaford Belcher and wife Sherry of Princeton, Jerry Belcher and wife Melinda of South Gap, Va. Funeral services were conducted on Jan. 30, 2005 at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. Burial was at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. where Josh Price, Ronnie Cordell, Herschell Carter, Larry Luttrell, Eric Hurt, and Mike Jenkins served as pallbearers. Employees of the CNX Gas Co., LLC, maintenance department served as honorary pallbearers.
