HISTORIC BLUESTONE INN -BRAMWELL, WV

This house (once located on the corner of Main Street and Bloch Street in Bramwell) is the Historic Bluestone Inn that was one of Bramwell's first structures and largest hotel/boarding house. The original Bluestone Inn was demolished in 1933. The orignal Inn stood across from the Historic Bramwell Pharmacy on the corner of Main Street and Bloch Street. Historic Bramwell's only intersection, Main and Bloch was occupied on the intersection corners by this famous Inn, Pharmacy, Masoic Hall and the Bank. With the exception of the Inn they all remain standing.

Year 1886: Several large hotels were built throughout the coalfields by Norfolk & Western Railroad. The Bluestone Inn was built in Bramwell and was a favorite spot for social activities. This building survived the fire of 1910 but closed shortly after the Great Depression.
