BRAMWELL HIGH SCHOOL CLASS '57

IN MEMORY OF CLAUDE WALTER BLIZZARD, JR.

(NOV. 25, 1939 - JUNE 19, 2001)

Claude Walter ‘Chuck' Blizzard Jr., 61, of303 Hawthorne Street, Bluefield, Va. went to live with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 19, 2001. Born Nov. 25, 1939, in Coaldale, he was a son of Mozelle Wood Blizzard of Bluefield and the late Claude Walter Blizzard Sr. He was a member of the Maybeury Methodist Church, a graduate of Bramwell High School and attended McLain Business College.

He was the retired vice president of Blizzard's, Inc., and was a member of the Bramwell Masonic Lodge #45 and the Mullins Moose Lodge. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Barbara Henderson Blizzard of Bluefield, Va.; daughters, Melissa Kasun of Bristow, Va. and Mary Jane Blizzard of Herndon, Va.; three sisters, Lena Riley of Bluewell, Louis Brown and Beulah Radt both of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Kermit Blizzard of Bluefield;' and granddaughters, Victoria and Erica Kasun. of Bristow.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in the Chapel of Mercer Funeral Home & Crematory in Bluefield with Dr. Bill Carrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Bluewell. Those serving as pallbearers will be Bany Blizzard, Tracy Janutolo, Eustace Frederick, Joe Johnson, Michael Henderson and Richard Radt. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service hour today. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a gift of life in the form of a blood donation be given to the American Red Cross, or a gift of hope in the form of a donation be made to a favorite charity.
