ST. ALBANS—Harold L. Murphy, 63, of St. Albans, died Friday February 26, 1993 at a South Charleston hospital. Born May 22, 1929 in Bramwell, he was the son of the late George Patrick and Marie Painter Murphy.
He retired from C & P Telephone Company, having worked as an accounting manager. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Albans, the American Legion and Sleepy Hollow Golf Club of Teays Valley. He was a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Business and was an Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War.
Survivors; wife PEGGY M. STACEY MURPHY ; daughters, Stacy Murphy Wilner of Knoxville, Tn. And Robie Murphy Higgins of Lauderhill, Fl.; brothers, Douglas Murphy of Tallahassee, Fl., and Donnel Murphy of Bramwell; and sisters, Molly Davidson of Princeton and Terry Reed of Bramwell.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of St. Albans, with the Rev. A.D. Ellison officiating. Entombment will be at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of St. Albans or WVU Athletic or Scholarship funds.
