BRAMWELL HIGH SCHOOL CLASS '31

IN MEMORY OF HERMAN HILL

Herman Wiley Hill, Sr., 81, of Box 185, Bramwell,WV died Sunday July 4, 1993 at an Altoona, Pa. hospital. Born March 3, 1912 in Coopers, he was a son of the late Wiley M. and Blanche Williamson Hill.

He was a life-long resident of Bramwell, and worked in the accounting offices of Mill Creek Coal and Coke Co., Peerless Mines, American Coal Co. and Pocahontas Fuel Co. He was a retired tax examiner for the state of West Virginia, and was a co-owner and founder of Kitchen Builders, Inc.

He was a charter member of the Bramwell Kiwanis Club, where he was past president and held a perfect attendance record for 47 years. He was a 1931 graduate of Bramwell High School and a 1933 graduate of Bluefield College. Herman was president of his Bramwell High School Senior Class. He was a member of the Bramwell Presbyterian Church, where he was a former Deacon, Trustee, and Elder of the Church.

Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Cook Hill. Survivors: daughter, Dr. Dennis (Mary Katherine) DeLeo of Altoona, Pa.; sons, Dr. Herman W. Hill, Jr. of Athens, Oh. and Henry Joseph Hill of Mt. Sidney, Va.; sisters, Mrs. Howard (Hattie) Rigney of Salem, Va., Mrs. Early B. (Honey) Johnson of Roanoke, Va. and Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) James of Bluefield; brother, Hampton Hill of Bluefield; seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bramwell Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ward Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, or at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
