IN MEMORIAM - BHS CLASS '55

 

JANET LEE ELLER

Janet Lee Eller Gomez -Yanis, 66, of Clifton, N.J. died on Monday, April 26, 2004 at her home. Born in Bramwell, WVon Oct. 14, 1937, she lived in Verona, N.J. before moving to Clifton 13 years ago. She was a school nurse in Verona and a health educator for the Verona Board of Health for 20 years, retiring in 2001 from the H.B. Whitehome Middle School. She was a 1960 graduate of Berea College with a BS degree in nursing. She was a member of the National and New Jersey School Nurses' Association, and served as president of the Essex County Nurses Association from 1980-1994. She was one of the first female deacons ordained by the Montclair Heights Reformed Church, where she served. She was a member of the Square Dance Association in Clifton. Surviving are her husband, Conrad; daughters, Consuelo Brennan and Christine Waguespack; a son, Gerardo Gomez; her parents, Robert and Jessie Eller; brothers, Michael and Wesley Eller; a sister, Beverly Aker; and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held on at the Bramwell Wesleyan Church in Bramwell with the Rev. Wesley Childs officiating. Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Princeton.
