Bramwell High School Class Ring
A True Story
|
In 1964 a
Bramwell High School 1958 Class Ring was found on the
eastern shore of Virginia in Belle Haven. This ring was
returned to it's owner in April 2000 thanks to some work
on behalf of the finder, the Historic Bramwell Web Site
and a helpful 1951 BHS graduate. The ring belongs to
Richard Morgan, BHS Class '58. He is one happy BHS Alumni
to get his class ring back after almost 40 years of being
lost. This event is somewhat close to a miracle and
brings credit to those who helped in locating the owner
of the ring. On 17 April 2000 Richard Morgan met with the lady that found his long lost BHS class ring. He was delighted to get his ring back and so was his wife. "Story Update - Details" When Richard Morgan graduated from Bramwell High School in 1958 he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Cape Charles, Virginia . He met a young lady there and they started dating. One day when they were at the beach in Cape Charles Richard was in the water and his new friend was on the beach. Richard took the ring off and tossed it to her. Oops, it landed in the sand and they never found it. Richard's ring was found six years later (1964) by someone else. It was found behind Belle Haven School, located 40 miles from Cape Charles, Virginia. However, Richard had never been to Belle Haven School. We will never know how Richard's ring got there. Someone else may have found it at the beach and lost it again, or perhaps a seagull plucked it out of the sand on the beach at Cape Charles and dropped it behind the Belle Haven School. That knowledge will remain a mystery forever. However, in the end Richard married the young lady he tossed the ring to and now has his cherished BHS Class Ring back. After 40 years there is happy ending to this true story. |
