BRAMWELL HIGH SCHOOL CLASS '31

IN MEMORY OF MARGARET ANN FREEMAN AUSTIN


Mrs. Margaret Ann Freeman Austin, 39, of Bramwell, was found dead in her bed yesterday morning, August 19, 1954. She was found by her mother, Mrs.
Martha Wheeler Freeman and pronounced dead by Dr. L. R. McCormick. Dr. McCormick said she had been dead for several hours when her mother went to her bedroom. No cause for the death was given and an autopsy had not been performed last night. It had not been determined if she died of natural causes.

Mrs. Austin was born May 15, 1915, at Bramwell, a daughter of the late Charles Wesley Freeman, well known coal operator and Mrs. Martha Wheeler Freeman. She was graduated from Bramwell High School in 1931 and attended Gulf Park College at Gulf Park, Ms., and the College of William and Mary. She was married to S. H. Austin, Jr. in December 1938.

Mrs. Austin is survived byher husband, S.H. Austin, Jr.; two daughters, Judith and Beverley; her mother; three brothers, Charles, Jr. of Pocahontas, Va., Roland and William Freeman of Bramwell, WV and a sister, Miss May Llewellyn Freeman of Arlington, Va.

Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Bramwell at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Rosa Bailey officiated, assisted by Rev. Jan Semutz.
