MATOAKA, WV

Matoaka, West Virginia (WV), a community in Mercer County, was incorporated in 1912 and named for Pocahontas,

the daughter of Chief Powhatan. One of her secret tribal names was"Matoaka."Matoaka is situated on Widemouth Creek,

a tributary of the Bluestone River.
