Miss Maude Smith ( Yr. 1953 ) ... Beloved Bramwell High School teacher for over forty years, taught in the areas of social studies and fine arts. She was a well known long time resident of Bramwell, WV and was featured in "Who's Who" in Bramwell in 1953. She had been teaching in Bramwell High School for 37 years in 1953. She continued to teach there several more years before retiring.

According to the 1940 West Virginia census data Miss Maude Smith was born in 1892.

Miss Maude Smith of Bramwell, "W. Va., visited for several days during the holiday in the home of her sister, Mrs. J. W. Wall. Ambrose Fink and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilson of Portsmouth, Va., were guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Fink, for Christmas. ' Mr. and Mrs. N. V. Hutton and L. Ft Hutton of Ravena, Ohio.
