Percy "PJ" McElrath"

Percy John "PJ" McElrath, Jr., MD, son of Mrs. Percy McElrath and the late Dr. Percy J. McElrath, Sr. of Bramwell,WV graduated from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, VA. "PJ" (as Percy was known) married Idell Marshall in Richmond, VA on March 9, 1942. He served in WWII. His wife, Idell died in Warrenton, VA on June 29, 2012 at the age of 92.

It is most likely that Percy was a graduate of the 1930 Class of Bramwell High School, since his father, Dr. McElath, SR. lived in the family home on "Main Street" in Bramwell, WV until his death in 1930.

Idell McElrath - "Find-A-Grave"
On Friday June 29, 2012, surrounded by her loving family in Warrenton, Virginia, Idell Marshall McElrath peacefully went home to be with her Lord. She was 92 years of age. Idell was born on September 13, 1919 in Galax, Virginia, to Lee and Laura Dickens Marshall and was the youngest of their six children. She obtained her RN degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, where she met her beloved husband of 37 years, Dr. Percy John (P.J.) McElrath, Jr. They were married in Richmond on March 9, 1942 and Idell worked at MCV as an Emergency Room nurse until P.J. returned from service in World War II.
