BRAMWELL 5K RACE - YR 2002
( Information furnished by Don Pierce, Jr. - 11 October 2002)
Fall for Bramwell 5K Results September 21, 2002 The 2002 edition of the Fall for Bramwell 5K had nearly twice as many participants as last year's inaugural running at that distance. Earlier years had featured a 7-mile Coal Shuttle Run or Millionaire 5-miler. While the heat was moderate, the humidity was high making the run a challenging one. Men's champ and overall winner Dale Carter posted a fine time of 18:37, an excellent run for a 56 year old. Women's winner Staci Aulick of Huntington, daughter of Jane Dudash Smith ('65), repeated as champion with an improvement over her time of last year. The town is hoping for an even larger number of runners next year as word about the fine trophies and cash awards gets around. |
