BRAMWELL HIGH SCHOOL CLAS '66

RICHARD STEVEN GAMONS

Mr. Richard Steven Gammon of Bramwell, W.Va. departed this life on March 14, 2012. Born in McComas, W.Va. on January 24, 1949, he was the oldest son of the late Richard Gammon and Dorothy Gammon Woods. Served in the U.S. Army, Richard worked 30 years as a Cement Finisher. He was a graduate of Bramwell High School in Bramwell, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Theodore Gammon; and brother-in-law, Clinton Patterson Jr. He confessed Christ as his Savior at an early age. A member of Bluestone Baptist Church, Freeman, W.Va., baptized in 1961 under the leardership of the Reverend Fred Thornton. His memories will be cherished by his sons; Steven Lamont of Washinton, D.C. and Roderick Myron of Springfield, Va.; three grandchildren, Taliyah, Kamyah, Jeremiah; two sisters, Wanda (George) Webb, Bluefield, Va., Delphine Patterson Bluefield; three brothers, Robert (Jackie) Gammon, Charlotte, N.C., Jerome Gammon, Bluefield, and Lamont Woods, Charlotte, N.C.; uncles; aunts; and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday at A-P McConnell Funeral Home, LLC, with the Reverend James Green officiating. Burial will follow at WV National Cemetery, Grafton, W.Va. Friends may call one hour prior to start of service.
