John Henry Rickmon was born on month day 1865 in, North Carolina, to John Henry Rickmon, Sr. and Elizabeth Rickmon. John married Laura Bell Mitchell in 1889, at age 24 in Virginia. They had 2 daughters: Gladys Verneon Rickmon Eastwood and Goldie Frances Rickmon. John Rickmon passed away in 1951, at age 86 in Bramwell, WV. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery Bluewell, Mercer County, West Virginia

John Henry Rickmon's daughter,  Goldie Frances Rickmon was born on June 23, 1898. She died on November 28, 1994 at 96 years of age. We know that Goldie Rickmon had been residing in Bramwell, Mercer County, West Virginia her entire life. She was extremely knowledgable of the town's history. In her later years she lived in the building that was once the Historic Pence Hotel.
