THOMAS JEFFERSON THOMPSON & SON, CHARLES FREDERICK THOMPSON

Thomas Jefferson Thompson was born May 11, 1872 in Christrianburg, VA. He was the son of Ennis T. and Elmira Howard Thompson. Mr. thompson was a painter and paper hanger by trade. He was employed by Booth Bowen Coal Company in Freeman, WV for 35 years. Mr. Thompson died at his home in Freeman at the age of 73. He died on June 4, 1945. Thomas J. Thompson was a member of the Bramwell Methodist Church, Bramwell Lodge and Matoaka Lodge No. 203 I.O.O.F. His interment was at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bluewell, WV.

Charles Frederick Thompson, Sr. was the youngest son of Thomas Jefferson Thompson and Mary Elsie Tickel (? spelling) Thompson. He was born on March 23, 1906. He graduated from Bramwell High School on May 29, 1924. His diploma is rather large (17” X 22”) and is presented on the BHS Class '24 Index. Charles retired from New River Company on July 1, 1970 after 37 years as Maintenance Supervisor for all of the New River Tipple Operations. He passed away July 24, 1988 in Scarbro, WV at the age of 82.

There is also the obituary for Charles' father posted under the Freeman Index FREEMAN, WV INDEX as a pioneer. He was Thomas Jefferson Thompson. Although the obituary is not dated, his death certificate lists the date of death as June 4, 1945. It is believed that they lived in Freeman at the time of his death.
