WARREN BROWNING LUTTRELL
WARREN BROWNING LUTTRELL Of Annandale, VA, died on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the age of 83. Warren was born in Bramwell, WV, the son of Dr. Homer B. and Virginia P. Luttrell. As a young boy he attended Bramwell School until his family returned moved to the family farm in Amissville, VA at the end of 1943 or early in 1944. After one year living in Amissville his family moved to Pulaski, VA where Warren grew up. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and had a long and successful career with Merck & Company, Inc. He was an accomplished amateur golfer, a classic film enthusiast and an entertaining raconteur. Warren was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Glenna; his daughter Karen Luttrell Sharpless (Kenneth) of Auburn, AL; his son Richard B. Luttrell (Cynthia) of Bristow, VA; three grandsons, Jordan Luttrell, Carson Luttrell and K. Painter Sharpless and one stepgrandson, Michael A. Sharpless. He is also survived by his brother Richard W. Luttrell (Carol) and four nieces. Friends may visit from 1 to 2 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17 at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Johns Hopkins/Patrick C. Walsh Prostate Cancer Research Fund.
