Herman Wiley Hill, Sr., 81, of Box 185, Bramwell,WV died Sunday July 4, 1993 at an Altoona, Pa. hospital. Born March 3, 1912 in Coopers, he was a son of the late Wiley M. and Blanche Williamson Hill. (The photograph on the right was cropped from a BHS 1930 yearbook photograph.)

He was a life-long resident of Bramwell, and worked in the accounting offices of Mill Creek Coal and Coke Co., Peerless Mines, American Coal Co. and Pocahontas Fuel Co. He was a retired tax examiner for the state of West Virginia, and was a co-owner and founder of Kitchen Builders, Inc.

He was a charter member of the Bramwell Kiwanis Club, where he was past president and held a perfect attendance record for 47 years. He was a 1931 graduate of Bramwell High School and a 1933 graduate of Bluefield College. Herman was president of his Bramwell High School Senior Class. He was a member of the Bramwell Presbyterian Church, where he was a former Deacon, Trustee, and Elder of the Church.

Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Cook Hill. Survivors include: Daughter, Dr. Dennis (Mary Kathern Hill) , Son: Dr. Herman W. Hill, Jr. of Athens, OH.
